Name: Lilo Pelekai
Fandom: Lilo and Stitch
Timeline: After end credits montage
Age: 7
Appearance: She looks like THIS! and also this
Abilities: Lilo is an excellent hula dancer and very proficient at diving to feed fish peanut butter sandwiches. She's also a very "capable" fighter, punching and biting her classmate, Myrtle, into submission on more than one occasion. Actually, that was a joke. She's just an angry, violent little girl. She has been known to dabble in voodoo, but that skill still needs a lot of work and more pickle jars. But other than that, she's pretty much just a seven-year-old girl.
Personality: Lilo is an eccentric, bright, mostly-happy little girl that has been through a lot in her short life. Not many people other than her sister understand her or what's happened to her, so she tends to come off as different and weird. She's shunned by her fellow classmates and made fun of before she meets Stitch. It's a lonely existence full of sighs. Really, She's imaginative and creative but has great difficulty expressing her feelings in a constructive way. Not only are there paintings in her room from her 'blue period', but she also made her own doll, Scrump, and likes to take pictures of weird-looking people that she deems 'beautiful'. As for the feelings, She deals with them in one of two ways; internalizing or lashing out. When she's sad, she's more likely to throw on an Elvis record and shut herself away somewhere to wallow in her depression. When she's angry or hurt, she can be violent and would rather yell and scream than use her words.
Some of the interests she has are way beyond her age level. Not many kids can say that their favourite musician is Elvis. She also tends to talk about morbid things and is really very intelligent for her age. You can see how observant and insightful she is when she's telling Nani about the fight at school and she says "People treat me different." to which her sister replies, "They just don't know what to say." She's an avid reader and looks at things almost scientifically at times, like Stitch's 'badness level' and how to approach the task of making him a model citizen. She's very calm in most situations and can backsass with the best of them. The girl is braver than most adults, training an alien dog that can talk and push people over without even batting an eyelash. She's persistent, too. No matter how much Stitch pushes her or yells at her or messes things up, she doesn't give up on him. She has a lot of faith in people and their ability to be good.
Lilo being so different makes her very open to people and things that are different. When her sister lets her go to pick out a dog at the kennel, she picks the most unique (and terrifying) one of the bunch. She's independent, wanting to pay for the dog herself (but borrowing the two dollars to do it), and incredibly loyal. Lilo stands by Stitch no matter what because he's part of the family. Despite the tragic loss of her parents, her outlook remains sunny for the most part. On the outside. But it's obviously that she was deeply affected by it. She gets up early every week to give a sandwich to a fish that apparently controls the weather because her parents died on a rainy night. She desperately clings to what remains of her family because she doesn't want to lose anyone else. Lilo seems the most happy when she's with her family, surfing, or dancing.
History: Lilo Pelekai was born about 13 years after her older sister Nani. When Nani was 18 and Lilo was five, their parents died in a car crash on a very rainy night. Nani was appointed Lilo's legal guardian and has struggled to care for her little sister and work to support them at the same time.
About a year later, Lilo and Nani are doing as best they can on their own. One particular Thursday, after feeding Pudge the fish (he controls the weather), Lilo is late for her hula class. They're rehearsing for an upcoming recital. She manages to sneak in just in time but is also soaking wet. As she dances, she gets water all over the stage causing her classmates to fall. The instructor asks her why she's late and covered in water and she tells him the story of Pudge the fish! Myrtle Edmunds calls her crazy and she proceeds to beat the crap out of her. The instructor breaks up the fight, Lilo apologizes, and class is dismissed.
Lilo is supposed to wait at school for her sister to come get her, but she sees some of the girls from class about to go play dolls. She gets up and runs over to show them the doll she made all by herself. Her name is scrump and she's about to have an operation to get the eggs out of her ear... but the other girls ditch Lilo while she's telling her story and essentially just step on her little heart and then spit on it and stab it and stuff. All metaphorically, of course. Lilo walks home all by herself much to Nani's horror.
When Nani gets back to the house, Lilo has nailed the door shut and is lying on the floor listening to her Elvis records. Unfortunately, this is the day the new social worker comes calling. Lilo's antics get Nani into trouble and the social worker is not impressed. After he leaves, Nani chases Lilo around the house and the two get into a huge argument instead of talking about what happened that made her leave the school instead of waiting. It ends with Lilo going to her room and staying there until bedtime.
Nani brings Lilo some pizza since she missed dinner and they make up. Lilo tells her what happened and Nani realizes she really needs a friend. The next day they go to the kennel to pick out a dog. Lilo ends up picking an ALIEN FROM OUTER SPACE that barely resembles some sort of mutated dog. She names him Stitch and pays exactly two dollars for him. Stitch is actually experiment 626, and intergalactic fugitive on the run from authorities and his creator. In order to leave the kennel he was tossed in after being hit by a truck, he needs some sort of cover. That cover just happens to be Lilo.
Lilo soon finds that her 'puppy' isn't very good OR very normal. He destroys everything he touches. Lilo does her best to get him to do something constructive with all that energy, but it doesn't quite work out. Stitch's antics get Nani fired and Cobra Bubbles, the social worker, shows up to check on them. He threatens to take Lilo away and put her into foster care if Nani doesn't get a new job and Lilo doesn't turn Stitch into a model citizen.
Nani is forced to take the pair with her while job hunting. Lilo's attempts at getting Stitch to be like the most model-y of citizens, Elvis, keep ruining Nani's attempts at getting fired when they all end horribly. The day ends with all three at the beach on the verge of giving up. David, Nani's not-quite-boyfriend, appears and suggests they all go surfing. Everything is going well until Jumba, the alien sent to Earth along with agent Pleakley to capture Stitch, tries to grab him while in the water. He pulls Lilo down as Jumba grabs his leg and Cobra Bubbles sees the whole thing. He tells Nani that she has the night to say goodbye to Lilo before she's put into foster care.
Lilo and Nani talk about Ohana and how family means no one is left behind or forgotten. Stitch realizes he's breaking them apart and decides the leave. The next day David shows up telling Nani about a potential job opportunity that could fix everything. She tells Lilo to wait alone at the house while she runs off with David to try and get the job. Jumba shows up looking for Stitch and Stitch returns to protect Lilo. There's a huge fight that destroys most of the house, which Lilo actually enjoys (She even helps fight with a broom!) and the aliens take chase each other somewhere else. Cobra Bubbles shows up and puts Lilo in the car just as Nani returns. They argue and Lilo slips out of the car and starts to run away.
Lilo and Stitch are both captured by a second bounty-hunting alien, Gantu, but Stitch manages to escape. Before he can save Lilo, he's knocked off the spaceship and found by Jumba, Pleakley, and Nani. She begs them to help her save her sister and thus starts an epic sky-chase. Stitch breaks Lilo out and she's surprised and relieved that he came back. He tells her nobody gets left behind and they escape. Everyone ends up crashing into the water near the beach, but they're all unharmed.
They return to land only to be greeted by the ground councilwoman that ordered Stitch's return in the first place. She is shocked to find that he now has a family that he cares about and Lilo tells her that she can't take him away because it would be stealing. She paid two whole dollars for him, after all! The councilwoman sentences Stitch to banishment on Earth and leaves him in the care of Nani and Lilo who, along with Uncle Jumba and Aunt Pleakley, David, and Even Cobra Bubbles, rebuild their home and become a bigger and much-less broken family. Stitch takes over the domestic duties and watches over Lilo while Nani takes care of the income and finally has time to date David.
Roleplay Sample - Log: (Written in third person, past tense, any setting [Changed 6/25! - 'any canon setting - or Facility based.'] )
Roleplay Sample - Journal: (Written in first person, IC, as though it were a journal entry.)
This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function? Lilo's built from strong stuff. As long as she develops a support system at fac, which I'm sure she will do in no time, she'll be able to handle anything. If losing her parents and being kidnapped by aliens didn't break her for good, I'm confident that she can handle what fac throws at her! She's incredibly mature for her age. Probably moreso than Nepeta was.
